This was the first ap summer art project that I completed. Sprouting from my concentration, the idea behind the piece was to show the moment of adrenaline that comes from the beginning of the race. I used acrylic paint for this piece. My main focus was to get the perspective right. This required me to perfectly arrange each of the lines and correctly size each black line/T on the bottom or wall of the pool. I think I did an okay job at this. The right side of the pool looks a little distorted. I think I was successful in shading the bottom of the pool with blue. To do this, I watered down the blue I had been using in order to paint the blue, but not completely cover the cream color of the bottom of the pool. The least successful part of the piece was the shape of the face of the swimmer. If you look closely, her nose is huge. I also became lazy at the end of this piece and quickly painted the lane ropes at the top of the piece red. Overall, I think this was my worse ap summer project, however I think I grew in my abilities of using acrylic paint.
