I started taking art classes freshman year. I ended up in AP art my senior year in high school. Although this class was very stressful, I grew a lot through the maturity in my art. Coming into the class, I would swear up and down that I hated painting with oils. Ap art taught me how to use oils though; getting use to the texture and the drying time, I learned how to enjoy oils as well as acrylic. My concentration for my ap art portfolio is moments of adrenaline. Though this concentration, I explored how to represent adrenaline through movement, line and color.
One thing that I wish I had done more of is mixed media. My first concentration piece was in mixed media, however I didn't do any other pieced like that. I am really pleased how my concentration turned out. I was able to convey movement through my pieces. I was able to find my own style throughout this class and definitely hope to continue with my art in college.
